As a way of introduction, the Churchwardens asked Juliet to write a brief statement:

Greetings everyone at Holy Trinity with St Nicholas Church.

My name is Rev Juliet, and I am delighted to have been appointed to come and serve you in Weymouth as your Vicar and Deanery Missioner.

I grew up in Newcastle Upon Tyne and have been married to Phill for 33 years. We have 2 adult children, Dan (29) who got married to Georgia in April this year – they live in Kent, and Ellie (27) who lives as a community volunteer at Hilfield Friary near Cerne Abbas.

I was ordained at Southwell Minster in 2005, and have had parishes in market towns in Nottingham, rural farming villages in Gloucester and suburban housing estates in Newcastle. My current role is in Liverpool, where I am a Canon of the Cathedral, and oversee the funeral ministry in the Diocese, as well as being the assistant vicar at a church in Toxteth.

At home with plenty of good liturgy, robes, choral singing, candles, and incense, I can’t wait to worship with you all. I have a passion for outreach and ministering to those on the edge of our churches. Working in our community to build relationships, and offering hospitality, friendship and mutual beneficial support will be exciting with our school, care home and the RNLI amongst many others. We have very strong links with our Franciscan brothers and sisters at Hilfield Friary and am keen to see this relationship develop as we join your wonderful church in Weymouth.

Can’t wait to meet you all…we are very excited!

With every blessing, Juliet and Phill xxx
