On Armistice Day we held our Remembrance Service to remember all those that have fallen in the two great wars and also to remember those lost in more recent times due to war and civil unrest. Mike Gill from the British Legion led the service.
The last post and reveille were sounded very movingly by a bulgier. Rev Juliet reminded us all in her sermon that at the end of each of the world wars that villages became known as thankful or double thankful villages because their soldiers (their family members) had returned from the war. Army Standards were raised and lowered during the service as a mark of respect.
The Mayor Kate Wheller was in attendance and read one of our readings.
